EXPLOSION Above 90°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed. Above 90°C use a closed system, ventilation. EXPOSURE  •INHALATION Cough. Sore throat. Nausea. Convulsions. Dizziness. Laboured breathing. Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation. Sweating. Unconsciousness. Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection. Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention.  •SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Skin burns. Pain. Redness. (See Inhalation). Protective clothing. Protective gloves. Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.  •EYES Pain. Redness. Severe deep burns. Face shield. First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.  •INGESTION Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Shock or collapse. Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Vomiting. (See Inhalation). Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention. SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING Ventilation. Remove all ignition sources. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Separated from strong acids, oxidants , metals , food and feedstuffs . Well closed. Ventilation along the floor. PHYSICAL DANGERS: CHEMICAL DANGERS: Reacts with oxidants . Attacks many metals forming flammable/explosive gas (hydrogen - see ICSC 0001). The substance decomposes on burning producing nitrogen oxides . OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS: TLV: 0.5 ppm as TWA; (skin); BEI issued; (ACGIH 2004). MAK not established. ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin and by ingestion. INHALATION RISK: A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C. EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE: The substance is corrosive to the eyes and the skin. The vapour is irritating to the respiratory tract . Corrosive on ingestion. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system , resulting in convulsions and respiratory failure . Cholinesterase inhibition. Exposure may result in death.
