TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames.
Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 74°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 74°C use a closed system, ventilation.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

 •INHALATION Cough. Dizziness. Drowsiness.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Dry skin. (See Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
 •EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety spectacles.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
 •INGESTION (See Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Collect leaking liquid in sealable plastic containers. Wash away spilled liquid with plenty of water.
Separated from strong oxidants. Ventilation along the floor.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance can presumably form explosive peroxides in contact with air. Reacts violently with strong oxidants . Attacks many metals forming flammable/explosive gas (hydrogen - see ICSC 0001.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 100 ppm; skin (ACGIH 1999).
TLV: 150 ppm; (STEL) (skin) (ACGIH 1999).
OSHA PEL: TWA 100 ppm (600 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH REL: TWA 100 ppm (600 mg/m3) ST 150 ppm (900 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH IDLH: 600 ppm

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air will be reached rather slowly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The vapour irritates the eyes and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system , resulting in narcosis.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The liquid defats the skin.
