Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire. NO open flames. Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide. EXPLOSION Finely dispersed particles form explosive mixtures in air. Prevent deposition of dust; closed system, dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. EXPOSURE PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE!  •INHALATION Blue lips or finger nails. Blue skin. Confusion. Convulsions. Cough. Dizziness. Headache. Nausea. Sore throat. Unconsciousness. Local exhaust or breathing protection. Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.  •SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Protective gloves. Protective clothing. Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.  •EYES Redness. Pain. Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection. CHEMICAL DANGERS: May explode on heating. On combustion, forms nitrogen oxides. The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides. Reacts with strong oxidants. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS: TLV not established. ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion. INHALATION RISK: Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly. EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE: The substance irritates the eyes and the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the blood , resulting in formation of methaemoglobin. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE: Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization.
