EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Cough. Headache. Shortness of breath. Weakness. Metallic taste.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
 •SKIN
Protective gloves.
Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
 •EYES
Safety spectacles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal cramps. Nausea. Shock or collapse. Metallic taste.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
WHITE CRYSTALS

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
Upon heating, toxic fumes are formed.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV (as TWA): ppm; 0.01 mg/m3 as Cd, A2 (ACGIH 1998).

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the respiratory tract.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the lungs and kidneys , resulting in impaired functions and tissue lesions. This substance is probably carcinogenic to humans.
PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES
Melting point: 1000°C
Density: 4.7
g/cm3
Solubility in water, g/100 ml at 0°C: 75.5
ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA
The substance is toxic to aquatic organisms. In the food chain important to humans, bioaccumulation takes place, specifically in plants. It is strongly advised not to let the chemical enter into the environment because it persists in the environment.
