TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames. NO contact with oxidants.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion on contact with oxidants.

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE!

•INHALATION Headache. Blue lips or finger nails. Blue skin. Dizziness. Laboured breathing.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! (Further see Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention. Wear protective gloves when administering first aid.
 •EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles, face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal pain. (Further see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO YELLOW CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes ( nitrogen oxides ). Reacts violently with strong oxidizers or sulfuric acid causing fire and explosion hazard. Attacks some forms of plastics, rubber and coatings.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV (as TWA): 2 ppm; 11 mg/m3 (skin) (ACGIH 1999).
MAK: 5 ppm; 28 mg/m3; skin (1999)
OSHA PEL: TWA 5 ppm (30 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH REL: TWA 2 ppm (11 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH IDLH: 200 ppm

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed, especially if powdered.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes. The substance may cause effects on the blood , resulting in formation of methaemoglobin. The effects may be delayed (see Notes). Medical observation is indicated.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the blood, liver and testes.
