TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE	ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS	PREVENTION	FIRST AID/ FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE	Combustible.	NO open flames. NO contact with flammable substances.	Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION	Above 79°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed. Risk of fire and explosionon contact with organic,combustible substancesreducing agents.	Above 79°C use a closed system, ventilation. Use non-sparking handtools.	In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water. Combat fire from a sheltered position.

EXPOSURE		PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS! AVOID ALL CONTACT!	IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION	Sore throat. Burning sensation. Cough. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).	Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.	Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN	Redness. Pain. Skin burns.	Protective gloves. Protective clothing.	First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES	Redness. Pain. Severe deep burns.	Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.	First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION	Burning sensation. Abdominal pain. Shock or collapse.	Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.	Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.

Personal protection: chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable plasticcontainers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT absorb in saw-dust or other combustible absorbents.

Separated from combustible and reducing substances, mineral acids,food and feedstuffs. Cool. Dry. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO YELLOW LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
May explode on heating at about 150°C. The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials causing fire and explosion hazard. Contact with cobalt, copper or lead alloys and mineral acids may lead to violent decomposition.

The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of this substsnce may cause lung oedema (see Notes). The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

N O T E S

The technical product can contain a certain amount of cumene (10-20%) which changes physical properties. Other UN number: 3109 Organic peroxide, type F. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. Rinse contaminated clothes (fire hazard) with plenty of water.
